Extension Privacy Policy

The ScreenLab browser extension collects no information about you, and never sends the pages you visit to ScreenLab servers.

To know whether one of your tools applies to a page, it checks that page's address against a list of sites built into the extension. That check happens in your browser, and nothing about it leaves your machine.

Your settings - which tools are turned on, the sites and categories they're on for, and any schedules - are stored using your browser's own sync service (Google's in Chrome, Apple's in Safari). Cloud Sync is used to ensure your settings stay consistent across devices - for example, when you move from your home computer to your work computer.

That information is not accessible by ScreenLab, nor does your browser's maker have access to any ScreenLab information beyond those settings.

The extension opens a page on our own website in three situations, and those visits reach our servers like any other visit to the site:

• When you click the ScreenLab toolbar icon, or the popup shown on a site your tools are active on, to open your settings
• Once when you first install it, carrying a marker that tells us an install completed
• When you open a site you've blocked, to show you the block page

The blocked site's address is deliberately left out of that last one: the extension holds it in your browser's memory, passes it to the block page without it ever crossing the network, and discards it when the tab closes. We can see that a block happened, but not what was blocked.

Settings you change on that page while signed in are saved to your ScreenLab account. Signed out, they stay in your browser.
