Activity isn't showing

Have you waited 10 minutes?

Activity trackers update every 10 minutes. If it hasn't been 10 minutes since your first activity, you may need to wait a little longer.

Is the app running?

ScreenLab needs a desktop app to run. See the Getting Started guide for instructions on installing and signing in.

Have you declined access in Settings?

When you first launch ScreenLab, it will ask for automation permissions. If you decline (or later disable) this setting, ScreenLab won't be able to see your activity.

How to enable access

Click the Apple logo in the top-left of your screen and choose 'System Settings'
In the settings left panel, click 'Privacy & Security'
From the list that shows, in the settings main panel, click 'Automation'
Click the 'ScreenLab' application, and ensure all used browsers are enabled

Do you use Firefox?

We don't support Firefox yet. Every other major browser is supported.

Have you declined browser permissions?

You need to allow automation access for all browsers you use. See have you declined access in Settings?

Tools don't work

Have you declined the extension permissions?

The browser extension needs site access to function. If you declined or disabled this setting, the tools will not work.

To enable tools:

In Chrome

In your browser, click the puzzle logo in the top-right corner to open the 'Extensions' menu
Click the three dots next to 'ScreenLab', and select 'Manage Extension'
Under 'Site access', select 'On all sites'

In Safari

Click 'Safari' in the menu bar at the top of your screen, and choose 'Safari Extensions'
Choose 'ScreenLab' from the list on the left
Click 'Edit Websites'
Set 'For other websites' to 'Allow'

Are you using incognito/private mode?

By default, the browser extension does not work if you are browsing in incognito/private mode. Options:

Exit incognito mode
Allow the extension in incognito mode. See here for instructions
